I usually go for the more subtle..where I let people screw themselves over, as I gently allow their own stupidity send them careening off the edge.

It's so much more fun. However, I have actually put effort into it on occasion…

The best one was I worked with a guy (Dennis) who gave me wrong information intentionally, and, when I credited him with it in a public meeting (flogging) with the boss, denied he ever told me that. So, I become the expert on something Dennis was going to need information on. When he asked me for information, I gave him totally bogus information (not in writing and not in front of anyone). When it came time for the next public flogging with the boss, he stood up and spouted it back like it was gospel and took all the credit for it. When the boss asked me if that was correct, I shook my head and said "no. I don't know where Dennis got that information but it's actually…."

Dennis was publicly flogged (revenge), and couldn't claim I told him since he took credit for the information. Hoisted on his own petard. (*evil laughter*)
